HSBB: JPII Opens With Wins Over Patrick Henry

The John Paul II basketball teams opened their season with wins over visiting Patrick Henry on Tuesday.

The JPII girls won 53-40 behind 28 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals from Tkai Devore. Lexi McIntosh added 10 points and Ayannah Thompson led a strong defensive effort for the Golden Warriors.

The Golden Warriors routed Patrick Henry 81-41 in the boys game, forcing 44 turnovers. Freshman Amere Cherry led the way with 24 points, seven rebounds, five steals and four assists, while Melik Frost, T.J. Polite-Grant and Malone Kinard-Huisinger added 10 points apiece.

JPII is back in action Tuesday, hosting Memorial Day.
