Battery Creek High School picked up a huge region win Friday, going on the road to beat Ridgeland-Hardeeville 44-18.
Jordan Gwyn threw three touchdown passes – including a 99-yard strike to Armani Gibbs – and rushed for another score as the Dolphins snapped a two-game skid and put themselves in good position to make the playoffs.
Trey Booth had rushing and receiving touchdowns, and Trey Chancey caught a TD pass for the Dolphins.
Jabari Williams scored three touchdowns for the Jaguars, including a go-ahead 71-yard TD run that made it 18-13 in the third quarter before Battery Creek broke it open.
Battery Creek (3-5, 1-2) hosts May River next week, while Ridgeland-Hardeeville (3-4, 0-2) travels to region leader Wade Hampton.
