Hilton Head Prep took a one-point lead to the fourth quarter before host Bethesda Academy erupted for 31 points in the final period to claim a 61-31 victory.
The Dolphins led 31-30 at the end of three quarters, but two defensive touchdowns and a successful onside kick helped the Blazers turn the tables.
Hunter Hopman rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown and had a team-high seven receptions for 53 yards and a score to lead the Dolphins’ offense, and he also returned a kickoff 70 yards for a TD. Tommy Stauffer also caught a touchdown pass, and Trevor Weldon was 4-for-4 on PATs and made a 25-yard field goal.
Hilton Head Prep (1-5, 0-2 region) hosts St. Andrew’s next Friday.
