Ospreys Even American Legion Playoff Series With 5-4 Victory

The Beaufort Ospreys evened their best-of-5 series against Horry Post 111 at a game apiece with a 5-4 victory Thursday in the second round of the American Legion Baseball state playoffs.

Drew Luckey went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and three RBIs, and three Beaufort pitchers combined on a two-hitter. Luckey, Brendon Bowersox, and Griffin Yeager each pitched three innings, with Yeager racking up five strikeouts.

The series moves to Conway for game 3 on Friday and game 4 on Saturday. If a fifth game is necessary, it will be played at Beaufort High on Sunday.

The winner of the series advances to the state tournament beginning July 22 in Sumter.
