Bluffton American’s Run Ends At Machine Pitch State Tournament

The postseason run came to an end Tuesday morning for the Bluffton American all-star team in the Dixie Youth Machine Pitch (age 9-10) state tournament in Lexington.

Bluffton found itself in a close game through four innings, trailing by two runs, before Blythewood pulled away for a 15-6 victory. The loss snapped a streak of three straight wins in elimination games for the Bluffton team.

Two more local teams begin state tournament play Saturday in Hartsville, with Bluffton American facing Sumter National in the first round of the AAA tournament and Hilton Head taking on Clinton in the opening round of the O-Zone tournament.
