Former Hilton Head Christian Academy standout Matt Lehman holds a three-shot lead entering the final round of the Hilton Head Island Amateur Golf Association’s Amateur Championship.
Lehman, a rising sophomore at Furman University, shot 1-under-par 71 in Saturday’s second round at Legends at Parris Island Golf Course and is 3-under for the tournament. He is three shots clear of USCB golfers Jonathan Sundstrom and Cole Nead, and four ahead of Jeff Wong and John Patterson.
In the senior division, Steve Johnson fired a 1-over 73 in Saturday’s first round to take a two-shot lead over Kevin Arnold and Russ Fickes.
The final round begins with championship division play starting at 11 a.m. Sunday, with senior division play beginning at 12:40 p.m.
