The Beaufort Ospreys finally know their opponent for the second round of the American Legion baseball playoffs.
The League 1 champion Ospreys will face League 2 runner-up Horry in a best-of-5 series beginning Wednesday at Beaufort High School. Games 1, 2, and 5 (if necessary) will be at Beaufort with games 3 and 4 at Horry.
The first two games are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m.
Beaufort advanced to the second round when League 8 No. 4 seed Lower Lexington elected to forfeit its first-round series because it didn’t have enough players. Horry swept its first-round series against League 3 No. 3 seed Manning, winning 20-15, 16-5, and 4-1.
The winner of the series will advance to the eight-team state tournament July 22-26 in Sumter.
