Bluffton’s Kayla Kozak Finishes 4th At AJGA Oppenheimer Memorial

Bluffton’s Kayla Kozak finished fourth among an international field in the girls division at the AJGA Judie Oppenheimer Memorial Junior tournament, which wrapped up Thursday at Chechessee Creek Club in Okatie.

Kozak, a University of Central Florida signee, shot 71-72-76 in the 54-hole event and finished five shots behind champion Yukino Yoshihara of Irvine, Calif.

Beaufort County was well-represented in the event, as Sophia Burnett (Bluffton) and Anna Eddy (Hilton Head Island) tied for 10th.

In the boys division, Evan Greenplate (Hilton Head Island) tied for 22nd, shooting 76-74-75, Daniel Azallion (Hilton Head Island) finished 29th, Brandon McBride (Bluffton) tied for 30th, Jonathan Griz (Hilton Head Island) tied for 33rd, and Leonardo Hernandez (Bluffton) tied for 45th.
