Thomas Heyward softball bounced back from a disappointing loss Friday to claim a thrilling 14-13 victory at Beaufort High on Monday.Â
Isabel Cannon went 4-for-5 with a three-run homer and struck out 10 to earn the win for the Rebels, who held on after opening an 11-2 lead after three innings. Abigail Hayes also went deep for the Rebels, going 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs.Â
Nia Holmes was 2-for-4 with a homer, three runs, and two RBIs, and Madison Sanchez was 2-for-5 with two runs for the Eagles, who scored four runs in the fifth and four more in the sixth to pull within 12-11 but couldn’t finish the comeback.Â
THA shortstop Keleigh Bowers snagged a line drive to start a double play in the seventh and help the Rebels preserve the win and rebound from a 10-0 loss to Colleton Prep on Friday. Â
Gracie Wade and Amelia Bonds each added two hits for the Rebels, while Kaiya Johnson had three RBIs for Beaufort.
