Hilton Head Prep is well on its way to another girls golf state title after the first day of the SCISA State Championships on Monday at Orangeburg Country Club.
The Dolphins posted a remarkable team score of 9-over-par 297 in Monday’s first round, giving them a huge 47-shot cushion over Porter-Gaud entering Tuesday’s final 18 holes. Hilton Head Christian Academy is 10th among 13 teams after a 424 in the opening round.
HHP sophomore Bridget Wilkie is atop the leaderboard after firing a 2-under-par 70, giving her a two-shot lead over Carolina Academy’s Emma Louise Hunt with fellow Bobcat Hannah Altman and HHP teammate Camila Burnett lurking three back.
Recent Richmond commit Olivia Wilkie is tied for sixth after a 4-over 76, while Antonina Morgan (T9, 78) and Kathryn Schaefer (T15, 82) rounded out the Dolphins’ dominant lineup. HHCA’s Jojo Wiktor is tied for 20th after an 85, and teammate Grace Avret shot 94 to tie for 30th after the first round.
The tournament is set to conclude Tuesday.
