Hilton Head High volleyball continued its Region 7-4A dominance Thursday, sweeping James Island at home in three sets.
Garret Talarczyk’s group started strong in the first set, taking the opening frame 25-18 before crushing the Trojans 25-8 in the second. The visitors gave the Seahawks a scare in the third set, but Hilton Head prevailed 25-23 to stay unbeaten in 18 sets thus far in region play.
Kenzie Ryan paced the Seahawk offense with 10 kills to go with eight digs and two aces. Ava Edri put together a terrific all-around match, notching eight kills, five digs, and two blocks, and Ady O’ Grady was a force at the net, recording six kills and three blocks alongside eight digs. Makenna Mason collected 29 assists with two kills and five digs, while Abby Jacobs added two aces.
Hilton Head (12-2-1, 6-0) faces Gray Collegiate and Lakeside in a tournament on Saturday.
