HSFB: Raiders’ passing game, line play too much for War Hawks

Colleton Prep couldn’t keep up with a confident and explosive Dorchester Academy squad Friday, falling to the Raiders on the road 25-6 to begin region play.

Cole Davis found the end zone in the first quarter for the War Hawks, but Dorchester Academy broke open a 6-6 halftime tie with 19 unanswered points.

The Hartzog brothers stole the show in the rivalry matchup, as quarterback Caleb Byron threw two touchdown passes to Haden Hartzog and another to Hunter Hartzog.

The Raiders dominated on the defensive line, holding down War Hawk star Drew Murdaugh and picking off two passes while Waylon Gruber scored on a fumble recovery.

Colleton Prep (1-3, 0-1) hosts unbeaten Hilton Head Christian Academy on Friday.
