May River’s boys had their playoff run halted by second-ranked Bishop England on Friday, falling 73-35 on the road in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs.
The Sharks were able to slow down the game and keep it close in the first half, trailing 18-14 after one quarter and 27-20 at halftime, but the Bishops broke out in the third quarter and shut down the Sharks in the fourth.
Harry Cash scored 17 points to lead May River, but the Sharks couldn’t get much else going on offense. Brady Harrell added six points, and Gavin Blocker had five.
Patrick Antonelli and Daniel Brooks each scored 18 points, and Thomas Michel added 14 for the Bishops.
May River finishes with an 8-12 record.
