May River volleyball made history again Tuesday, defeating county rival Beaufort High for the first time in the program’s four-year history.
On the heels of their first win over crosstown rival Bluffton, the Sharks swept the visiting Eagles 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-9).
May River’s Addison Black had a huge night with 17 kills, 11 digs, and three aces, while Lillian Long added seven kills and six blocks, and Chynna Sneed also contributed seven kills. Lexi Birtcher had four aces and nine digs for the Sharks, while Reaghan Evans dished out a team-high 18 assists, and Abby Puplava added 12 assists.
Olive Renforth led the Eagles with eight kills and was 8-for-8 serving. Hannah Merchant added seven kills and was 6-for-6 at the service line.
May River (11-5-1) travels to Hilton Head High on Tuesday. Beaufort (12-10-3) travels to rival Battery Creek on Tuesday.
