Hilton Head Christian Academy rolled to its third consecutive win with a 56-9 rout at Northwood Academy on Friday.
Hayden Shinn was 9-of-12 for 244 yards and four touchdowns, and Daniel Harrington scored on a run, a reception, and a kickoff return for the Eagles.
The Eagles scored on a 34-yard touchdown pass from Shinn to JP Peduzzi on their opening drive, and Jackson Lanier recovered a fumble six seconds later to set up Shinn’s 12-yard TD pass to Harrington. Harrington added a 2-yard TD run later in the first quarter to make it 21-0, and Dargan Cherry recovered a fumble in the end zone after a bad snap on a Northwood punt attempt to make it 29-0 early in the second quarter.
The Chargers got on the board with a safety, but Shinn connected with Brennen Studenc for a 65-yard TD and Jace Blackshear added a 5-yard touchdown run to make it 43-2 at halftime.
Harrington returned a kickoff 85 yards for a score and Shinn and Peduzzi hooked up for a 51-yard TD pass to cap the scoring for the Eagles.
Peduzzi caught three passes for 109 yards and two scores, and Blackshear had a team-high 54 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.
The Eagles (3-2, 1-0) host Orangeburg Prep for another region matchup next Friday.
