Alexis Ortiz and Journeigh Doray each drove in four runs to power Battery Creek softball to a 12-1 win over May River on Wednesday.
Ortiz was 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, and Doray went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs to lead a 13-hit attack for the Dolphins (7-0, 5-0), who took a 2-0 lead in the series. Emily Crosby went 2-for-3 with a double, a homer, and four runs, and Julianna Greer drove in three runs.
Hayley Welsch drove in the lone run for the Sharks (4-4, 3-2), who managed only three hits against Ortiz.
The series finale is set for 6 p.m. Friday at May River.
