John Paul II baseball has opened the week with back-to-back wins over Memorial Day and St. Andrew’s.
The Golden Warriors beat visiting Memorial Day 10-2 on Monday, as Brad Tigges equaled the school record with nine strikeouts. Adrian Skipper had two hits and three RBIs, and Mark Tigges added two hits.
Ray Johnson also matched that school record a day later, striking out nine in a complete game as JPII won 6-1 at St. Andrew’s. Skipper had another big game at the plate with three hits and two RBIs, and Johnson had a pair of RBIs in the seventh to deliver some insurance.
The Golden Warriors (2-2, 1-0 region) host Colleton Prep for a region matchup at 6 p.m. Friday.
