May River baseball continued its strong start to the season with a 7-3 win over defending Region 8-4A champion Colleton County on Wednesday.
Jeffrey Hodge was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Cooper George, Josh Patterson, and Elijah Peter all drove in runs for the Sharks.
Patterson picked up the win on the mound, allowing two runs and three hits over three innings with four strikeouts and five walks. George gave up one run and four hits over three innings of relief, and Logan Wake pitched a scoreless seventh.
The Sharks (4-1) host Woodberry Forest School (Va.) at 7 p.m. Thursday.
