Morgan Scott dominated with 23 points, and May River’s girls used a stellar second half Friday to defeat Effingham County 49-31 on the road.
The Sharks grabbed a 23-18 lead at halftime and grew the advantage to eight points after the third quarter. There was no stopping Scott in the fourth, as the sophomore standout excelled on both ends to propel her Sharks on a 15-5 run that put the game away.
Kennedy Palmer turned in a strong performance to complement Scott’s heroics, scoring 10 points on the night. Jania Taylor led the Rebels with an 11-point effort.
May River (2-1) battles its second straight Georgia opponent on Saturday in a home matchup with Groves.
