LowcoSports is proud to announce a partnership with Local Pie to become the official pizza sponsor of LowcoSports.com, continuing Local Pie’s generous support of grassroots local sports journalism that celebrates the success of the teams and athletes in the South Carolina Lowcountry.
As part of the agreement, Local Pie will become LowcoSports’ first Sustaining Sponsor and will be the Presenting Sponsor for all sailing coverage and a Supporting Sponsor for all content related to high school football, basketball, baseball, and softball, as well as the All-Lowco Teams honoring the area’s top high school stars each season. Local Pie also will be a Supporting Sponsor of the LowcoSports Lowdown podcast, featuring news and analysis from the local sports scene, as well as interviews with key players, coaches, and sports personalities from around the Lowco.

LowcoSports launched in June 2017 to fill the void of local sports coverage and has since provided comprehensive coverage of high school sports in Beaufort, Jasper, and Colleton counties, as well as youth all-star teams representing the area, former Lowco high school standouts competing at the next level, and much more.
The site was founded by Justin Jarrett, who worked in the sports department for The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette newspapers from 2005-11 before becoming the director of sports information and marketing for USCB athletics from 2011-17. Jarrett saw the need for better coverage of local teams and sought to create a community resource to keep local sports fans updated on area sports news and provide valuable exposure to local athletes competing at the high school level and beyond.
“LowcoSports started as a labor of love out of a desire to reestablish the type of community sports coverage local newspapers long provided,” Jarrett said. “Thanks to the support of great sponsors like Local Pie, we’ve been able to continue and expand our top-notch local sports coverage, and we hope to continue doing so for many years to come.”
