Beaufort Academy’s boys carried over their strong finish to the regular season with an impressive showing in the first round of the SCISA 1A state tournament Friday, beating Holly Hill Academy 63-38 at Pinewood Prep.
Dawson Coleman scored 19 points and Elijah Fess added 17 to lead the Eagles, while Braydon Dineen contributed 11.
BA (15-10) advances to face top-seeded Richard Winn Academy, which survived a scare from No.4. seed Faith Christian before winning 71-67. The game will be played at 7 p.m. Monday at Wilson Hall in Sumter.
