A short-handed Beaufort Academy boys team lost 72-40 at Spartanburg Day in a non-region game Saturday.
Elijah Fess scored 17 points and Brandon Trapp added nine to lead the Eagles.
Fess had the hot hand early, but with leading scorer Dawson Coleman away from the team for an official visit to The Citadel for football, the Griffins were able to focus their attention on slowing down Fess.
