Four area private school volleyball teams begin their quests for state titles Friday at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center.
Hilton Head Christian Academy and Beaufort Academy each claimed No. 1 seeds, while Hilton Head Prep is a No. 3 seed and Thomas Heyward is a No. 4 seed in the double-elimination tournament.
HHCA is a top seed in the Class 2A bracket and has a first-round bye before facing the Oakbrook Prep-Robert E. Lee Academy winner at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Also in the Class 2A bracket, HHP is a No. 3 seed and takes on Carolina Academy at noon Friday, while THA is a No. 4 seed and faces top-seeded Palmetto Christian at noon.
BA is a No. 1 seed in the Class 1A bracket and opens against South Aiken Baptist at 1:30 p.m.
The tournament continues through Saturday with the championship matches scheduled for Monday.
