Hilton Head Prep’s girls tennis team added another chapter to its dynastic reign Saturday, earning the Dolphins’ seventh state championship in the past eight years.
The Dolphins swept Spartanburg Day 6-0 on Saturday in Sumter to claim the SCISA Class 2A state title.
The team of Avery Brothers, Cassie Cohen, Valerie Covington, Lauren Harvey, Sayda Hernandez, Gabby Klobucar, Lizzie Lofye, Maia Mureseanu, Lily Perez, Molly Rankin, and Paige Sriubas finished the season with a 15-1 record and won 14 straight following their only loss of the season — a 4-3 defeat to crosstown rival Hilton Head High on Aug. 29.
