Nimmer Begins Pro Career On Mackenzie Tour

Bryson Nimmer just turned pro.

With his brilliant college career behind him, Nimmer officially began his pro career when he teed off at 4 p.m. ET this afternoon at the Mackenzie Tour’s Bayview Place DCBank Open in Victoria, British Columbia.

Nimmer’s Clemson team lost a playoff for the final spot in the match play bracket at the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship earlier this week, ending a stellar collegiate career that included earning ACC Player of the Year and All-America honors this season. Nimmer leaves Clemson with 27 school records, including a single-season record four wins as a senior.

It’s not the first professional event for Nimmer — that came in February at the PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open, where he carded two rounds in the 60s and tied for 47th — but it’s the first time he will have a paycheck riding on it.

Nimmer has status on the Mackenzie Tour this season, as well as an invitation to play in the Web.com Tour’s BMW Charity Pro-Am from June 6-9 in Greenville.
