The Hilton Head All-Stars went 2-0 to win their pool on the opening day of the Dixie Youth Baseball AA Machine Pitch World Series on Saturday in Lumberton, N.C.
Hilton Head trailed 3-0 through four innings in its opening game against Alabama, but they scored three runs in the fifth to tie it and scored the game-winner in the bottom of the sixth for a 4-3 victory.
No comeback was necessary in the second game of the day, as Hilton Head scored four runs in the first inning and led 7-0 after three innings before holding on for a 7-2 victory over Georgia.
Hilton Head opens play in the double-elimination bracket against Pool IV runner-up Virginia at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The loser will play an elimination game at 7 p.m., with the winner playing a championship bracket game at 8:30 p.m.
