The Hilton Head All-Stars stayed undefeated and Bluffton American broke two state records Sunday at the Dixie Youth Baseball AA Machine Pitch State Tournament in Clemson.
Hilton Head improved to 3-0 in the tournament with a 9-5 win over Delmae and will face Gaffney American at noon Monday.
Bluffton American bounced back from a 3-1 loss in 11 innings on Saturday to break two state records in a 35-1 rout of Gaffney National. Bluffton scored a record 17 runs in the first inning and broke another state mark with its 35 total runs.
The offensive outburst didn’t carry over into the second game of the day, though, as Bluffton lost to Gaffney American for a second time, falling 9-2 in an elimination game.
