Holy Trinity boys basketball came up short in its first game without star Levi Dyer, dropping a 53-41 road contest Thursday at Charleston Collegiate.
With Dyer out for the season after suffering a torn ACL in Monday’s game with Bridges Prep, the Mighty Lions fell behind early on Thursday, trailing the Sundevils 14-10 after one quarter before Charleston Collegiate doubled the lead to 29-21 at halftime. Despite a terrific effort from Holy Trinity junior Houston Wilson, the home team built the lead to double digits after halftime and closed out the 12-point victory.
Wilson turned in a spectacular 22-point performance for the Mighty Lions, posting seven rebounds, five blocks, and two steals while shooting 6-of-8 from two-point range and knocking down all seven of his free throw attempts. Michael Andrade also excelled on the offensive end, scoring seven points and adding three assists.
Holy Trinity (3-6) hosts Faith Christian on Friday.
