The Hilton Head all-stars moved within one win of clinching the District 8 O-Zone (11-12) title with a 12-5 win over Bluffton on Wednesday at Crossings Park.
Landon Schwartz and Connor Wiendl hit home runs for Hilton Head, which has scored 32 runs in its first two games. Trace Mischik was 2-for-3 with a double to lead Bluffton at the plate.
The teams will meet again at 6 p.m. Thursday. If Hilton Head wins, it will advance to the state tournament July 7-11 in Union. If Bluffton wins, it will force a second game Thursday night to determine the district champion.
