Low Country 3v3 League Focused On Developing Area Girls’ Hoops Talent

Area high school girls’ basketball coaches are putting aside their rivalries to team up to make all their squads better this spring.

Hilton Head Island High School coach Sean Rochester has organized the inaugural Low Country 3v3 League and enlisted the help of Bluffton coach Lonnie Roberts and May River’s Jermaine Bigham with the goal of getting young players more court time. The league will stress fundamentals and competitiveness in hopes of helping the schools’ feeder programs improve in a fun, high-energy environment.

The league is open to girls in grades 4-8 and will take place from 6-8 p.m. each Thursday at Hilton Head Island High School. After an initial practice on March 22, regular-season games will be played March 29, April 5, April 19, April 26, and May 3 with a postseason tournament scheduled for May 10.

Cost is $40, which includes a reversible jersey. Registration is open until March 22. Click here to register or for more information.
