HSBB: Dolphins, Jaguars Advance in 3A Girls Playoffs; Sharks, Bobcats Bounced In 1st Round

Battery Creek and Ridgeland-Hardeeville opened the girls Class 3A playoffs with dominant home wins Monday.

Ta’Quasia Lampkin racked up 18 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, and five steals to lead the way for Battery Creek as the Dolphins cruised to a 68-43 win over Lake Marion. Trinity Coney scored 18 points, Starr Reed collected eight points and 11 rebounds, and Coresha Rutledge added nine points.

Battery Creek (18-5) will travel to top-seeded and fifth-ranked Swansea for a second-round matchup Thursday.

Region 8-3A champion Ridgeland-Hardeeville routed visiting Hanahan 69-33. The Jaguars (15-3) will host Strom Thurmond in Thursday’s second round.

In other Class 3A games, May River lost 52-46 at Manning, and Bluffton lost 68-47 at Bishop England.
