May River’s boys drained 11 3-pointers and frustrated a short-handed Beaufort High team in an impressive 82-56 home win over the Eagles on Tuesday.
Jakii Morrow led the barrage with four 3-pointers and 17 points to pace seven Sharks with at least nine points, and May River outscored Beaufort 48-30 in the second half. James Layman added 11 points, Garvin Douglas, Josh Evander, and Brady Harrell scored 10 each, and Gavin Blocker and Jordan Bryant contributed nine apiece.

Daniel Phares scored 15 points, Michael Dennison added 12, and Zyrin Odom had 10 for the Eagles, whose high-scoring guards were frustrated by May River’s stifling defensive effort.
The Eagles led 17-16 after the first quarter, but the Sharks heated up from long range to change the tone. Morrow splashed a 3 just before halftime to make it 34-26, Layman banged in a pair of triples in the third quarter, and Blocker splashed a long one to make it 62-40 going to the fourth quarter.
May River (3-4, 2-1) hosts Colleton County on Friday.
Beaufort (5-2, 2-2) travels to Bluffton on Friday.
