Hilton Head High finished third and May River was ninth among 24 teams Friday and Saturday at the Effingham County Rebel Invitational wrestling tournament.
The Seahawks had nine individuals place in the top six in their weight class, including two champions – Alex Braden (145) and Billy Christie (170). Kyle Riddle (126) finished second; Rawlin Szewczyk (120), James Roberts (138), and Marcos Sosa (182) placed third; Elihu Torres (195) was fourth; and Jesus Catalan (106) and Ethan Meselam (113) finished fifth.
The Sharks had five individual placers, including runner-up Ryan Humel at 170 pounds. Roderick Grant (195) and Eli Hall (220) placed fifth for May River, while Chad Hadden (113) and Rodney Romero (132) were sixth.
Bluffton placed 18th in the team standings.
