HSFB: Short-handed HHCA Cancels Game vs. LMA

Hilton Head Christian Academy and Laurence Manning Academy have mutually agreed to cancel their football game scheduled for tonight, HHCA athletics director Kenny Conroy said.

The Eagles had five starters suffer concussions in last week’s 52-23 loss at Thomas Heyward, and none of them were cleared to return to action this week, leaving HHCA with 19 healthy players, several of whom have not seen varsity game action.

Conroy said Laurence Manning agreed it would be in both teams’ best interest to scrap the non-region game.

HHCA has three region games remaining on its schedule – at St. Andrew’s on Oct. 13, at home against Bethesda Academy on Oct. 20, and at home against Hilton Head Prep on Oct. 27.
