USCB golfer Jonathan Sundstrom and Furman’s Matt Lehman are tied for the lead after the first round of the Hilton Head Island Amateur Golf Association’s Amateur Championship.
Sundstrom and Lehman, a former Hilton Head Christian Academy standout, each shot 2-under-par 70 on Friday at Legends at Parris Island Golf Course, giving them a one-shot lead over John Patterson. USCB’s Cole Nead and former Savannah State golfer Brandon Neals shot even-par 72.
Championship Division play resumes at 11 a.m. Saturday, while the first round of Senior Division play begins at 1 p.m.
